Hi, I’m Lee from Sophotogenic Wedding Photography. Horton Grange near Newcastle is an amazing wedding venue. It’s always been lovely but the improvements they’ve made to the venue - building the bar, removing the pond and opening up the outside so people can relax more outside, are fantastic. I’ve photographed loads of weddings at Horton Grange so I know my way around the house and grounds and can make the most of every corner on your day. My style is relaxed and natural, with a few polished portraits, and I always shoot your day the way you want it.

Best photo spots at Horton Grange

Having the bridal prep room just a door away from the barn ceremony is so handy isn’t it! The house itself is gorgeous with a really big wedding breakfast/evening reception room perfect for weddings of all sizes. Outside the front of the house is perfect as is the large grassy lawn for group, family and couple photos. The “avenue of trees” which leads to the new outdoor space and chess board is beautifully lit with warm lights which is perfect for couple and smaller group photos no matter the weather.

Tips for your Horton Grange wedding photos

• Get ready on site if possible. Having everyone in the house means less rushing and more natural photos of the build-up.

• The venue staff are very experienced and always make sure everything starts exactly on time - just what you need for a perfect wedding day.

• The light in the grounds is always beautiful, no matter the time of year.

• Don’t worry about rain. The Barn and the house give us plenty of great spots, and a couple of umbrellas make for fun photos outside.
