Spring Weddings in the North East
Hi there, I'm Lee, a relaxed spring wedding photographer in the North East, and I love this time of year! Everything comes back to life, from blossom on the trees to bluebells in the woods. Spring weddings in County Durham, Northumberland and North Yorkshire have a lovely, fresh feel to them, and the longer evenings mean we've got loads more time for photos.
Every single wedding is different because YOU are different, so I'll always photograph your day the way you'd like it, whether that's natural, light & airy or a bit more posed.
What to expect from a spring wedding in the North East
Spring is a bit of a mixed bag up here! In early March the sun sets at around 6pm, but once the clocks go forward at the end of the month it's more like 7.30pm, and by late May it doesn't set until after 9pm. That soft evening light is perfect for a few relaxed couple photos.
The weather can change in minutes, so you might get sunshine, a shower and a bit of wind all in the same afternoon. Blossom and bluebells only hang around for a couple of weeks, so it's worth asking your venue when they usually look their best.
My tips for your spring wedding photos
Have a plan for showers. A couple of nice umbrellas & an indoor spot at your venue means we're never stuck, and a bit of rain can make for some really fun photos!
Make the most of the blossom. If your venue has blossom trees or a bluebell wood, let me know before the day and we'll pop over for a few photos.
Think about the evening light. By May there's plenty of light after your meal, so we can sneak out for 10 minutes when it's at its best.
Bring a cosy layer. Spring evenings in the North East can still be chilly, so a shawl or jacket keeps you warm and smiling for the outdoor photos.
